An appellate court has ruled that a medical clinic can keep litigating one of four claims against a Houston personal injury lawyer who allegedly failed to pay a client’s medical bill after getting a settlement.



The 14th Court of Appeals agreed with a trial court ruling that dismissed three claims against Sarnie A. Randle Jr. and his firm, S.A. Randle & Associates. Yet the appellate court has sent the dispute back for trial on one of Regional Specialty Clinic’s arguments that the attorney breached insurance company contracts requiring him to use settlement funds to pay all liens asserted on his client’s funds.
